Bio
Marinus was born in South Africa, but grew up in New Zealand for a large majority of his life. He recently moved to Sydney to further progress his career with the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia clinic in Sydney. Marinus in an avid believer in the power of physical health and wellness. Marinus has developed a strong interest in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy, he is very passionate about helping others to regain their strength and confidence in movement. He has dedicated himself to keeping up with the latest research.
Credibility
Marinus worked in Cambridge for five years in private practice with a special interest in Sport Physiotherapy. Here he developed and implemented a strength and conditioning program for youth athletes with a focus on load management and injury prevention. The program used innovative mental and physical outcome measures to track athletes load. Marinus first studied at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand where he graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science in 2017, and then went on to complete his Post Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2022.
Philosophy
Marinus is an evidence-based practitioner who has a holistic approach to modern Physiotherapy. Marinus believes all injuries are multi factorial and thus needs to be managed with load management, symptoms modification, strengthening and manual therapy.
Marinus believes that Physiotherapy is a combination of a science meeting art. He feels that most patients are never listened to.
Fun Facts about Marinus
Marinus played a season of Semi-professional rugby in the Netherlands. He now enjoys spending his spare time road cycling, working out and hiking with his partner.
