Learn More About Mattias

Mattias McAndrew, was the second Physiotherapist to join the team at Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia, shortly after its founding.

Mattias has developed a passion for helping people that suffer from all manner musculoskeletal injuries or conditions, with a special interest in neck, shoulders, hands, back and knees, as well as treating headaches and migraines.

Mattias has 6 years of university education in both Physiotherapy and Human Movement science, as well as over 10 years of experience with exercise prescription. With the skills acquired throughout this period, Mattias has helped countless clients and patients with their goals of living a pain-free, active and full life.
Post graduation, Mattias has continued study to become a well recognised and regarded Watson Headache® practitioner, a trained Mulligan Concepts Practitioner and is also trained in dry needling and Western Acupuncture.

He guarantees that his patients will receive the highest quality and highest evidenced level of care, now and into the future. His continuing education is as important to him as it is to his patients, as healthcare is one of the most rapidly developing, in terms of research, of any industry, as we develop new and improved ways of treating patients to achieve the best outcome.

Mattias believes that finding the root of the problem is the key to relieving the symptoms experienced by his patients, rather than simply masking the symptoms with medications, or providing treatment with only short term benefit. This approach requires understanding his patients individually, and applying an appropriate treatment intervention after a thorough assessment process. Using this individualised approach, Mattias is able to achieve results leading to significant improvement in symptoms for the majority of musculoskeletal injuries.

Mattias has, and still does, lead a life of activity. Throughout his early to mid 20s, he competed at an international level in martial arts. Currently, he regularly participates in rock climbing, including national level rock climbing competitions. However, his passion for rock climbing revolves around venturing outdoors to beautiful destinations rarely seen by most.
